Hazel twigs

Can someone please tell me where I could find twigs like this?? A greenhouse? (anywhere cheaper?)  I have quite a few (empty) vases around the house that could really use some cool branches....

Nina, over at Stylizimo, called this a Hazel-twig...is it really from a Hazel tree? I want these twigs!!

Headboards

While visiting my friend in Lloydminster last weekend, we spoke A LOT about interiors and decorating.  She just moved into a new house and is in need of more furniture, and changing the decor and paint colors to suit their taste.  I mentioned a headboard I saw on a blog, and thought I'd share it with you as well. I'm sure most of you are familiar with Christine at Just Bella, and her guest bedroom shown here:

Using casings to frame a headboard, and wallpaper to fill it in, it adds a splash of color to the room and looks stunning, doesn't it?

I also found another DIY headboard over at Stylizimo, using an old pallet.

And what about this rustic headboard from Decorpad....

And then there's this colorful headboard, which I found through Melissa's blog, Hare Styling, from Domino online.  It may or may not be DIY, but it's gorgeous nonetheless...

And, since I don't know where else to throw this image in (and I've had it saved for a long time), check out this cool kids room

Chalkboards

As I read my daily blogs, I can't help but notice the craze for CHALKBOARDS in a home, can you? And, I'm not sure about you, but I'm DYING to put one in our house.  Nina,  from Stylizimo, has a DIY Chalkboard in her kitchen, and Kate over at Centsational Girl uses Chalkboard Paint constantly!  And I'm STILL in love with them!  My hubby thinks chalk is too messy, but did you know there's CHALKBOARD PENS!?!? (I learned of this over at Centsational Girl... haven't had a chance to check them out, google them, or even find out where I can buy them -- and I don't go to Michael's regularly)

What do you think of chalkboards? I'd love to put a long, thin one in our kitchen between the fridge and the pantry door...

Kate at Centsational Girl even covered her kids' little table with chalkboard paint...Brilliant!!!

Do you have a chalkboard in your home? Or would you put one? Make one? Buy one?  I think it's a great way to keep track of groceries needed, or where someone should be, or pass along a phone message...or just a great place to write "I Love You".....

Rustic charm....

There's something about the country feel and rustic charm that just sets me at ease.  Maybe it's the fact that it reminds me of spending the summers at the cabin, or the feel of sand between your toes, or the solitude of a cabin in the mountains in the middle of winter ...whatever it is, I feel innately calm when I look at pictures such as these.  Two blogs I've been following for awhile now, Stylizimo and Nenna, are constantly taking my breath away with their beautiful (home) pictures.  Nina from Stylizimo and Jane from Nenna have a knack of effortlessly piecing natural elements throughout their homes, giving them that rustic charm that is so serene, and blurs the lines between country and contemporary.

Something about rustic decor just makes me want to curl up in front of a fire with a cup of hot cocoa...

Home Office...

I don't work out of the home, but when the weather's been as crazy as it has been, I kind of wish I did.... don't you? (I've been hunched over my work computer the last few days with few breaks of blog catch up...)  My current office chair at home is a previously used one that I bought for super cheap off the company I work for. It's fully functional and it does the job...but it's HUGE in our tiny room (7'-6"x9'0") [and it's supposed to be a SPARE room!!! Can you imagine trying to fit a bed in that room? A twin at most!!]

Since I've been blog obsessed lately, I've come across several home offices that I adore...here are just a few...aren't they AMAZING??

On top of the amazing home offices, I've fallen in love with the white chair from Jen at Made by Girl's office... I found a similar one (not sure where hers is from) at Crate and Barrel online(which is now located in Calgary!!), but it's $299 US...ouch!  On top of her desk chair, I think I'm in love with her coffee table too....(sigh) Oh to dream....

First...her coffe table!! LOVE IT, and would be PERFECT for our front room.....

Next...the chair!! Don't you LOVE it???

At her old place, she even had TWO of them!!

I love how clean and airy this office looks (and probably feels!!)

I love the storage on the walls....and, of course, the chair!!

This storage would be AMAZING to have...if only we had the room!

And this is my new love!! I want one!! Maybe if I spent more time in my home office, I could justify spending money on a new chair.....(sigh)

What does your home office look like? I think I'm putting this office chair on my never-gonna-get-it wish list.....ah.....
